Caparica Junior Pro 2016 Update. Rio bows out in round 3

Following a successful inaugural edition last year, the iconic coastal town South of Lisbon is hosting the return of the Caparica Junior Pro a World Surf League men and women's Junior Qualifying Series event.

Caparica has launched the 2016 European Junior tour, showcasing a new format of competitors aged 18 years old or younger who will battle across the Old Continent for their chance to represent the region at a World Junior Championship final in early 2017.

Representing Jersey and the Channel Islands, Charlie Rio has managed to secure a 3rd round spot after coming 2nd in  2nd Round Heat 10 running up a score of 10.80 behind Joao Moreira 16.17 and beating Ardur Amatrain 9.20 and Noah Biersack.

Following on from a great heat yesterday Charlie Rio was edged out this morning. Gaining a combined score of 5.40, Rio landed up in 4th spot bowing out of his first ever Junior Pro Event behind Diego Garcia (SPN), Nicolas Guimond (GLP), Luis Diazz Urrejola (CNY).
