On Saturday 11th March the best of the Jersey surfing community will gather at St Ouens Bay for the first annual Channel Island Surfing Federation v Surf Club des Watermen à Libres from Brittany France.
This will be the fruit of months of work with all the local clubs – Jersey Surfboard Club, Jersey Longboard Club, Jersey Bodyboard Club and the Jersey Paddle Club to bring the first ever event of this kind to the beaches of Jersey encompassing these surfing disciplines.
This event will also signify the launch and purpose of the Channel Island Surfing Federation to bring all Jersey & Guernsey Surf & Paddle Clubs together to create more unity among the sports whilst still maintaining their clubs uniqueness.
The event will bring over 30 of some of the best surfers from Brittany plus judges and supporters this weekend and based on the current forecast Jersey will be showcasing some good conditions.
At present the event will be run in-between the La Port and The Watersplash area in St Ouens Bay from 9am with surfing taking place throughout the day, but to stay up to date please visit one of the clubs Facebooks pages.
At the end of the weekend the club with the most team points will walk away with the Club Cup and hold that for the year, and 2018 team CISF will head to the shores of Brittany to battle once again.
